Board-level view: agentic AI will not reduce the need for freelancers in the next 5 years. It will **reshape which freelancers get hired**.

Winners: specialists who compress decision cycles (security, architecture, change, domain experts).
Losers: interchangeable execution without ownership of outcomes.

My recommendation to COOs: treat agents as **junior staff with tools**, not as strategy. Hire freelancers to supervise, measure, and redesign processes around them.

That supervision market is where senior freelancers will print value.
